SAMR Model

SAMR models

SAMR Model stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition. It is a framework used in education to help teachers and educators integrate technology effectively into their teaching process. The model provides a way to categorize the different ways technology can be used in the classroom, from simply substituting traditional tools with digitals ones to completely transforming the learning experience. By moving through the levels of the SAMR model, educators can enhance students engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.  




 The SAMR model challenges educators to think creatively about how technology can transform the learning experience. By moving beyond substitution and modification and redefinition, teachers can create innovative learning opportunities that inspire students to think outside the box. It also foster collaboration and communication. By Integrating technology in a meaningful ways by using the SAMR model, educators can create opportunities for students to work together, share ideas, and engage in authentic learning experience. 

 Lesson Plan 1

Subject: Social Studies    Class: VI

Topic: Transportation    Date: 23/04/2024

Teaching learning materials: Power Point Presentation, goggle docs

Previous knowledge: They already gave knowledge of transportation as they have studied in fourth grade. Additionally, they continue to use some form of transportation where they move from one place to another.

Lesson Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

a. define transportation in their own words after classroom discussion accurately. (cognitive)

b. distinguish between three modes of transportation with an examples after explanation thoroughly. (psycho-motor)

c. reflect on two importance of transportation after learning about the transportation correctly. (Affective)

Lesson Introduction:

Exchange of greeting,

*I will make them to close their eyes and to take a deep breathe. I will make them to think on how people travel from one place to another.

* I will make them to share their answers with their group members and also with the whole class. To further highlight and emphasize on my lesson I will introduce the ppt to them.

Transportation PPT

Lesson Development:

 After the lesson, the students have to answers the questions correctly without the help of friends. This will help the teachers to check whether the students have understood the lesson or not. The teacher will provide necessary help if needed.

Quiz

Lesson Closure:

Recapitulating on some of the highlighting points of the lesson and ask them few questions to check how much they have understood.

Questions:

1. What is transportation?

2. What are three different types of transportation?

3. Write two importance of transportation.

4. Which mode of transportation is commonly used in Bhutan?

And I would ask them whether they have doubt or not and explain further if they have any. And I would wind up the class by telling them we are going to learn about communication in the next class.
